Do you offer a trial period?
Yes – 60 days! We recognize that purchasing a math curriculum is a difficult but very important decision, and we are committed to customer satisfaction. Therefore, we offer a 60-day trial period on all our printed products to let you to examine and try out Math on the Level to see if it is right for your family.

Do returned books have to be in perfect condition?
During the 60 day examination period, those who aren't sure they will keep the curriculum should treat it like it belongs to someone else. Thus it should be free of markings, notes, spills, tears, folded pages, scratches, bent edges, and odors. During the trial period, you may copy the record keeping forms so you don't have to make marks on the original ones. Of course, the right to copy and use the record-keeping forms is void if the product is returned. In reality, we get very few returns. If you need to return your purchase, please contact us first to let us know it is coming. If you made the purchase at a convention using a credit card, we will also need you to provide us again with your credit card number and expiration date, since we retain only the card type, name, and last four digits. If you made the the purchase from our website, this information is retained by our card processor, authorize.net, so you do not have to send the information again.
How to Package the Books
We recommend USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate shipping using the original packing materials (tyvek envelope(s) and bubblewrap) or similar. Note: we require the use of bubble wrap to cushion the books inside the box (like we used to send them new to you). Otherwise, the books may become damaged from being improperly packed. If you fail to use bubble wrap and the books arrive with bent corners or edges, we may send the damaged items back to you and reduce your refund accordingly.
Books that smell of cigarette smoke odors are not returnable.

What is the difference between the Full Curriculum and the Starter Set?
Math on the Level is designed as one complete curriculum, and each of its four teaching guides cover concepts from Pre-K through pre-algebra. Therefore, you eventually need the whole set. To lower the initial cost of getting started using the curriculum, it can be purchased in two parts: a Starter Set and Upgrade. It isn't that the Starter Set contains lower grade concepts and the Upgrade the higher grade concepts. Rather, the Starter Set provides enough of the curriculum to begin teaching your family using the Math on the Level approach, thus providing a way to spread the purchase out over time.

Do you sell individual volumes?
Yes. Math on the Level is designed to work as a complete set, so no individual volume should be considered to be complete by itself. However, the individual volumes do make excellent teaching resources. Therefore, we normally offer the volumes separately. During our convention tours, we may temporarily remove individual volumes from our website to prevent having to break up the curriculum sets while on the road. Otherwise, they are always available.

What do I do if I run out of record keeping forms?
We intend for the original user of Math on the Level to be able to the curriculum to teach all of their children. The only consumable part of the curriculum is the Overview and Record Keeping binder, which has the record-keeping forms. If you run out of forms, just contact us and we will provide a printable copy of the forms you need. You also will receive the Math on the Level autoscheduling spreadsheet, which is a real time saver. These items are available only after the 60-day trial period ends (or sooner if you know you are going to keep the curriculum and want to end the trial period early). Note: if you purchased a used copy of Math on the Level, please follow this link for information on how you may get the printable record keeping forms.

Are you coming to our area?
We may be! We have attended (and spoke at) many homeschool conventions and book fairs in 2008, 2009, and 2010. Once we have our plans firmed up for 2011, we will post the information on our website calendar. Since we also are a homeschooling family, we cannot attend every convention. Check back to see when we will be in an area near you! We also post times when we are invited to speak at a homeschool group meeting. Please contact us if you would like us to present Math on the Level at your group meeting. (Note: PSP meetings may not be open to the public.)

Why am I having problems viewing your website?
If you cannot view our website, or if the edges are black and non-viewable, your web browser resolution is set too low. Here is a simple way to fix it. On your keyboard, hold down the Ctrl key and then press the - (minus) key a couple of times. This will progressively adjust the resolution of your web browser to allow full viewing of the web page. If you want to adjust it back, hold down the Ctrl key and press the + key a couple of times.

What is the best way to make payment?
Our preferred way to receive payment is by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover). In addition to SSL encryption, our site is fully integrated with authorize.net as our payment gateway to give immediate authorization and safeguard your financial information (which is not stored on our website). You may also pay using your PayPal account. With the PayPal payment option, once the order is placed you are routed to the PayPal site to login and complete the transaction; afterward, you are automatically routed back to our website to view your receipt (which is also emailed to you). If you are part of a school or organization that provides payment for educational materials using a Purchase Order process, please check first to see if we are already on your organization's "Approved Vendor" list. If so, then please follow your organization's procedure to place an order (which may involve using the Purchase Order payment option). If your school's Approved Vendor list does not yet include Math on the Level, please ask them to contact us and we will be glad to work with them.

What can I do to help you?
Math on the Level is relatively new (June 2007 into) and very different from other homeschool math curricula, and it is getting great reviews from trusted sources. We want to get the word out about it to the homeschool community. To that end, we have tried to make our website complete and informative, we have attended many homeschool conventions, and we are also advertising. We realize, however, that the best possible advertising occurs when a friend tells other friends about this new approach to homeschool math. Therefore, please tell your friends about Math on the Level. We also appreciate questions and comments about our products and our website. We make changes to our website regularly, and at times something will stop working without our knowledge. We quickly respond and correct any problem and will gratefully consider any advice and tips you share on how to make it better. We would also love to hear from you if you would like a Math on the Level workshop in your area.

I'm having trouble downloading my e-book. What do I do?
When you purchase a downloadable product, an email is automatically sent to you with a (somewhat cryptic) file name that ends in pdf: followed by a 32-character Download-ID. For convenience, there also is a link you can click to automatically enter the Download-ID. To do this yourself, log in to our site, enter the Download Area, and copy and paste the Download-ID manually (be sure to copy only the the numbers and letters that come after the ...pdf:).
We recommend using the "save file" option instead of the "open file" option. Choose a location on your computer to store the file (such as in you My Downloads file in My Documents or else on your Desktop). If your download is interrupted and the downloaded file is incomplete, you will get an error message when you try to open it. If that happens, try the download again, but this time save the file to a different location. You may also need to clear your web browser's download history. The download link remains open for five days after your first download attempt. If something goes wrong and you are unable to get your purchased download, please contact us and we will assist you. And if you lose your downloaded product, we will be happy to replace it for you. Although our website is tested with most web browsers, we occasionally encounter the situation where customers have set security settings in a way that blocked their download. Because this can be very hard to troubleshoot, we recommend trying a different browser like Firefox or Chrome using their default security settings. If you have exhausted your download attempts but have not been successful in obtaining your purchased e-book, don't worry – contact us and we'll gladly assist you.

I bought a used copy of Math on the Level. Can I still get the printable forms?
Yes. If you have purchased Math on the Level from another individual and wish to receive the printable record keeping forms, suggested teaching sequence, and/or record keeping spreadsheet, you may mail in as proof of ownership the original title page (3-hole punched, pages i-ii, with the authors listed on the front) of the Overview and Record Keeping binder along with a small fee based on the year of printing (usually found on page ii, but on early versions on page iv). Here is how to determine the cost.

Will you accept a purchase order from my school?
Yes. Math on the Level is already approved by a number of schools that support homeschooling, both in the US (including California, Washington, and Alaska) and in Canada. To find out more, please contact us.
